Terms of Service
Introduction
These Terms govern the use of tex64.com and the TeX64 Platform services (accounts, AI features, usage tracking, and billing). By using the service, you agree to these Terms.
Service
TeX64 provides a local-first desktop editor and optional online features that require an account (such as AI features and billing). Core editing/build runs on your Mac; online features require an internet connection.
Software license
The TeX64 desktop app may be provided under a separate license/EULA presented at distribution time. These Terms govern the online services provided via tex64.com.
Accounts
You are responsible for activities under your account and for maintaining the security of your devices and credentials. You must provide accurate information and may not share access in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Acceptable Use
You must not misuse the service, bypass technical limits, attempt unauthorized access, or use it for unlawful, abusive, or harmful activity. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic.
Billing
Paid plans are subscription-based and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew each billing period until canceled. Feature availability follows your account and payment status (e.g., active, grace, past due, canceled).
Cancellation
You can cancel a subscription from the billing management screen (Stripe Billing Portal). Unless otherwise stated at checkout, cancellation stops future renewals and access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds
In principle, subscription fees are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds or credits, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support with your invoice or billing ID.
AI features
AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete and are provided for assistance only. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying outputs before using them. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information unless you have the right to do so.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we detect abuse, security risk, payment failure, or violations of these Terms or applicable policies.
Intellectual property
You retain rights to your content. You grant us a limited right to process your input only to operate and improve the service (for example, to provide AI responses and support). We retain all rights to the service, software, and branding.
Liability
The service is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Governing law / jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes arising from the service, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Updated terms will be posted on this page with the revised date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
